[House] WILSON LOLLERHUMPING

CRAP FROM THE '70S

This blog post has been making its way around the internets.
Click it.  Read it.  Worth it.
I was in horrific pain from the laughter.

And since we're on the topic of crap from the '70s, have you read up on your Weight Watchers recipe cards?

[House] LAYING DOWN THE TRUTH FOR WILSON

Sometimes I draw the line at shit. Sometimes.

Fanfic... the most embarrassing of all horrible addictions.  Even worse, when you've read all the pretty good ones and moved onto ones written by faililng junior high kids.  But I just keep on reading.  And hating.  But reading.  See, it's fine that they want to write out their little fantasies-- I mean, hey, I'm all for it, seeing as how I'm reading it-- but seriously, stop trying to bring it to a level it's just never going to rise up to.  Call the character by his/her name-- no need to call them by their profession when they're not doing a thing related to the occupation.

The oncologist handed the sandwich to the diagnostician.

No.  No no no.  You're not clever.  Do you really need to use these synonyms and titles?  Have you really overused the words "House", "Wilson", "he", "him", or even "friend"?

Most annoying synonym usage yet:

elevator = "metal box"

What?  How does that make the sentence flow better?  How is that going to make the situation anymore exciting?  Who even says that in real life?  Are the oncologist, diagnostician, immunologist, neurologist, and intensivist time travelling?  Last time I checked I didn't read crossover AU fics-- so NO.
